VietNamNet Bridge – The B testing sample of cyclist Truong Tai was negative and the International Cycling Union (UCI) has concluded that the Vietnamese cyclist did not use stimulants.

Cyclist Nguyen Truong Tai.

The UCI on July 30 informed Vietnamese cyclist Nguyen Truong Tai that he was positive for the substance Prednisone, which is on the list of banned substances of the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA).

This was the testing result of Tai’s A sample at the bicycle race Tour de Singkarak Basin which took place in June 2013 in Indonesia.

To determine whether the Vietnamese cyclist used stimulants or not, the UCI asked Tai to send the B sample for testing.

The B sample was simultaneously analyzed by WADA at a lab in New Delhi, India and the FMSI lab in Italy.

After the test, WADA concluded that the B sample was not positive for the banned substances. WADA said that sample A in June 2013 was bacterial contaminated so it was positive for prednisone.

Truong Tai was delighted with the results, he said: "Upon receiving the testing results of sample A I was completely devastated. I was really nervous during the time waiting for the results of sample B. Upon receiving the news, I was delighted and from now on I will try to practice to be able to be competed at the 27th SEA Games."
