At the opening of the meeting, Mr Kaoru Kurashima briefly introduced the operations of Ajinomoto Group in areas of food, amino acid, health and nutrition. The company was founded in 1909 and has operated for over 100 years. Ajinomoto has contributed to the food culture and the health of the community through the application of the amino acid technologies. It also actively finds solutions for enhancing the sources of food, general health and global sustainable development.
Since 2003, Ajinomoto has implemented the Victory Project – Project for supporting sport activities (e.g. nutritional consultation for sport practices and increase of amino acid for Japanese elite athletes to achieve their best results when competing in international arenas).
Mr Kaoru Kurashima wishes to expand and implement the project for supporting Vietnam Sport, particularly for Vietnamese athletes competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games: Supporting athletes in daily nutrition which is suitable for their physical condition and nutritional needs; Importing and providing Ajinomoto’s amino acid products to athletes; and providing “winning meals” in Vietnamese athletes’ restaurants throughout the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Mr Kaoru Kurashima also hopes that this project will help Vietnamese athletes improve their fitness in order to achieve their best results and win more medals for Vietnam at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Mr Nguyen Ngoc Thien expressed his appreciation for the Ajinomoto’s proposals to support Vietnam Sport in succeeding at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Vietnam Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc also made an official visit to Japan for a meeting with Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The two countries have achieved important cooperations in the area of tourism and sports.
Mr Nguyen Ngoc Thien stated that the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games will be the most favourable Olympic Games for the Vietnam Sport due to the fact that the biggest sport event in the world being held in an Asian country geographically closed to Vietnam and due to the close cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
Many local communities in Japan expressed their interests in welcoming Vietnamese athletes for training in their home soil. Therefore, all these factors along with the support of Ajinomoto are positive signs for Vietnam at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games./. (tdtt.gov.vn)
