In line with the 2017 Agenda of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, The Technical Course for Volleyball Coaches 2017 was organised from 13 to 20 October 2017 by the Vietnam Olympic Committee, with the assistance of the Olympic Solidarity (OS) and the cooperation of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and the National Sport Training Center in Ho Chi Minh city.
The Opening Ceremony of the course (on October 14) received the attendance of Mr Tran Van Manh, Secretary General of the Vietnam Olympic Committee - Chairman of the Course Organising Committee - Mr Nguyen Thanh Lam – Vice President of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and Deputy Chairman of the Course Organising Committee – Mr Huynh Chau – Deputy Director of the National Sport Training Center in Ho Chi Minh city- and Mr Zhao Shanwen–Expert from the International Volleyball Federation.
In the past years, with the help of the International Olympic Committee and International Federations, the organisation of the technical courses for enhancing the performance of the Vietnam Sports has been growing. Vietnamese coaches are appropriately equiped with knowledge and skills in training athletes which contribute greatly inachieving several awardsin international competitions and major regional Games (e.g. the South East Asian Games and the Asian Games). This course will help sharpen the skills of Vietnamese Volleyball coaches with up-to-date knowledge and techniques(used around the world) in Volleyball.
There are in total 35 participants for this technical course, consisting of Vietnamese coaches from across the country. At the beginning of the course, Mr Tran Van Manh delivered a lecture on the Olympic Movement.
The major contents of the course is delivered by Mr Zhao Shanwen and concentrateprimarily on the following topics: Over hand pass and setter; underhand pass, service receiving; training method; blocking, defense and drills; Volleyball tactics; Beach Volleyball; Volleyball injury and recovery method; and technology applications in Volleyball.At the end of the course, all participants will undertake practical examination and receive course completion certificates from the Olympic Solidarity.
