OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 3RD ADVANCED SPORT MANAGEMENT COURSE 2017

In line with the 2017 Agenda of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, the 3rd Advanced Sport Management Course was organised from 23 to 29 October 2017 by the Vietnam Olympic Committee, with the assistance of the Olympic Solidarity (OS) and the cooperation of the Department of Culture and Sport in Ho Chi Minh city and the National Sport Training Center in Ho Chi Minh city.

The Opening Ceremony of the course (on October 23) received the attendance of Mr. Tran Van Manh, Secretary General of the Vietnam Olympic Committee –Program Director – Mr. Le Duy Khanh – Deputy Chairman of Administration in the South of the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism - Mr Mai Ba Hung – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sport in Ho Chi Minh city – Mr. Nguyen Dang Khanh – Deputy Director of the National Sport Training Center in Ho Chi Minh city and other national sport management officers. Lecturers attending the event include notable Professors, Associate Professors, Doctors teaching in a number of Vietnamese Universities, and national as well as international experts and Olympic sport managers. 

The objectives of this course consist of supplementing and updating Olympic sport management skills and knowledges (delivered in English) with the view to equip them with a sound understanding in organising sport events, marketing, sponsorship, administration, strategic management, financial management, human resource development etc… all of which serve in the development and promotion of the Olympic Movement in Vietnam and across the globe.

There are in total 35 participants for this advanced course, consisting of Vietnamese sport management officials in Ho Chi Minh city and some provinces in the South region of Vietnam. At the beginning of the course, Mr Tran Van Manh delivered a lecture on the values of the Olympic Movement.

The major contents of the course concentrate primarily on the following topics: Nutritions for athletes, Anti-Doping, Olympic sport Organisation Management, Human Resource Management and Strategic Management.At the end of the course, all participants will undertake practical examination and receive course completion certificates from the Olympic Solidarity.
