On January 03, according to the new rankings of the ISSF, 2016 Olympic Champion Hoang Xuan Vinh ranked second in the 10m male air pistol event.
In the list of 10 best athletes in the 10m pistol event recently announced, Vietnamese shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh still ranked second with 1562 points. No. 1 in the world is currently held by Matsuda Tomoyuki (Japan, 2150 points). Also in the 50m pistol event, Hoang Xuan Vinh ranked fourth with 978 points.
The best position in the two events of 10m air pistol and 50m pistol that the Vietnamese shooters had achieved were the 1st and 2nd in the rankings of the ISSF.
It is expected that in March 2018, shooters from the Vietnamese national team will start competing in national and international tournaments. The first national tournament is the National Shooting Cup at the Hanoi National Sport and Training Center and the international competition is the ISSF World Cup 2018 in Mexico. (Vtv.vn)
