In Tokyo, Kim Tuyen defeated Yvette Yong of Canada in the round of 16 but lost to Israeli boxer Abishag Semberg, hence failed to reach to the bronze medal match.

In the category of coaches of the year 2021, Coach Pham Minh Giang (Vietnam Futsal team) won the highest number of votes for this honorable title.
