The Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) and the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) have signed a landmark partnership agreement covering the organisation of editions of the World Beach Games after 2019.

Jakarta, Indonesia, April 2, 2018: The Secretary General of the Indonesian Asian Games Organising Committee (INASGOC), Mr Eris Herryanto, welcomed 170 media members to the World Press Briefing at the Hotel Borobudur in Jakarta on Monday morning. Mr Herryanto assured the delegates that the two co-host cities of the 18th Asian Games – Jakarta and Palembang, capital of South Sumatrta – would be ready to host the Olympic Council of Asia’s premier event from August 18 to September 2.

IOC President Thomas Bach was in the North Korean capital Pyongyang on Friday for meetings with political and sports leaders. Following an extensive “four eyes” meeting with Kim Jong-Un, it was confirmed that the country is committed to its athletes competing at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, as well as the Summer Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 and the Winter Youth Olympic Games Lausanne 2020. 

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has claimed that more than 3,100 doping control tests were undertaken at last month's Winter Olympic Games here in Pyeongchang.
