The event, which was co-organized by the Vietnam National Olympic Committee, the Sport Administration’s Labour Union and the Youth Union, drew children in fun games with themes of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games Games, Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC), Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and International Olympic Committee (IOC).
It also was held to celebrate the International Children Day (June 1st) and support the Sport delegation of Vietnam competing in the 4th Asian Beach Games 2014 (ABG 2014) in Thailand as well as promoting the 5th ABG in Vietnam for the first time.
This is the 3rd time that Vietnam Olympic Committee organize the event.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Manh, VOC’s General Secretary repeated the message of IOC President on the Olympic Day 2014.
The message said: “It is very honour to see more and more young people joining the day annually. We should take chance of participating in all sports and cultural activities at the community… Because it’s precious value of the Olympic Day. It doesn’t really matter how you celebrate it, but as many people join the event as good. It’s the way all people get together to study and discover the Olympic Day. As a result, we can help each other make our future better. That is the Olympic ideal.”
The Olympic Children Day was full of laugh and happiness. All children participated in various fun games including team-building games, tug-of-war and quiz about International and Vietnam Olympic movement.
The event organizing committee presented gifts to the all winners.
